April 11, 2018 - In consideration of the recent disaster damage, it’s important we elect the most experienced District 3 representative. Heather Bernikoff’s professional background will be beneficial in restoring our County. Heather works with program funding sources and knows that when you have positive years with increased revenues, that you invest in your infrastructure and prepare for the difficult times. Mariposa made it through the housing bubble with far less incoming revenue, when other counties did not. This is why we need a representative that will not balloon expenses while utilizing one-time income sources. We should never dip into County reserves with proper savings and advance planning.

Heather Bernikoff impressed my family by being an active self-made community member and volunteer.  She has been active for years in protecting the Right to Agriculture and was an advocate for Williamson Act. She fought for improvements in phone service for our rural district. She knows the importance of infrastructure to our citizens, businesses and emergency response times.  Heather recognizes that agriculture and open-space creates less demands on county services and natural resources. As well as the value visitors and residents put toward seeing the open-space.

Heather is a stand-up and be heard representative. She will personally know the information. She will ask tough questions. We miss that!
